Trish Delaney-Brown
Australian jazz vocalist • songwriter • performer • educator
Trish Delaney-Brown is an acclaimed Australian jazz vocalist, songwriter, entertainer, and educator known for artistry that radiates authenticity, emotional depth, and musical sophistication. With a voice as expressive as it is technically assured, Trish explores life’s emotional landscapes through her original compositions, sharing them with honesty and presence that invite audiences into genuine connection.
She first gained international recognition as the original soprano and co-founder of the iconic Australian vocal ensemble The Idea of North, a group that helped redefine contemporary jazz vocals in Australia and earned multiple ARIA Awards during its storied history.
Following her time with the group, Trish has forged a distinguished solo career, performing with her own ensembles — the Trish Delaney-Brown Quintet, acclaimed vocal trio Lyhra, and the Serenata Trio — as well as across a wide range of collaborative projects. Her music infuses jazz with a singer-songwriter sensibility and is widely admired for both its technical sophistication and expressive warmth.
“Trish Delaney-Brown is a master poet… first your heart, then your intellect, and finally your soul is caressed by her beautiful thoughts.”
— Thomas King, RARB USA
